Two more teeth lost in the Kindergarten class

Sawyer lost his very first tooth over the weekend, and Dalia lost another one today at school. Our students have lost a total of eleven teeth. Pretty soon they will all be wishing for two front teeth for Christmas!

Tis the season to be JOLLY!

Tis the season to be JOLLY, and decorate our Christmas tree. I love a classroom full of Christmas cheer. My classroom tradition is to use the final day before Thanksgiving as a reward day. The kids love fluffing out the tree limbs and placing all the decorations on the tree and around the room.

All of their work led to a tree full of presents when returning from Thanksgiving break! Daily I get to answer the question "Do we get to open them today?". Although the answer each day is no, they have the most excited little personalities right now! Christmas is such a magical time! Happy Holidays from Kindergarten!

Fire Safety

October is Fire Safety month. The volunteer fire department came to our school on Friday October 14th.

Below you will see their favorite part of the day, THE FIRE HOSE! Each student was able to spray water, and they loved it!

They were also able to walk through the fire trucks and even sit in the drivers seat.

This is a thermal imaging camera, firefighters use this to see people when it is too smoky to see with our eyes.

The students walked around the fire trucks and learned about the hoses, ladders, switches, and axes.

Uriah was able to try on parts of the suit. The total weight of a suit is 50 pounds. Mr. tough guy thought it was pretty heavy!

The kids listened to Danny Signer talk about what to do if you are in a fire.

Thank you to all of the volunteer firefighters in our area for keeping us safe! Also, a big thanks to the group that volunteered their day to teach us about fire safety.

Our First Field Trip

Our first official field trip was to Apple Jack Pumpkin Patch. The kids loved the hayrack ride to the patch, and were able to pick out their favorite pumpkin! Afterwards we enjoyed all of the fun activities: train ride, hill slides, zip line, duck racing, jumbo pillow jumpoline, playground, and corn pit.
